As noted in my pie pattern, one of the knitted things I used for inspiration was the Kitty Pi cat bed by Wendy. I liked it so much that I didn’t just stop with knitted pie — I made Henry a Puppy Pi bed as well!
Here it is without the filling:

And here the puppies are, sussing the situation out. Or falling for a food bribe. You choose.

HenryPieFilling is still a little unsure of the whole thing…

But StellaPieFilling has no such qualms, although she’s probably a little too big. ![]()

i was coming to your site to ask if the puppy pi was felting, but obviously from your text, it IS knitting. Your pets are great subjects for the camera! I am curious how long your beautiful project will last, i have never had pets, i know cats scratch and ruin people’s sofas, do dogs scratch like that too? I hope your lovely Henry has respect for his new bed and looks after it like it deserves. I think it is gorgeous. I am a hands on kinda gal, i wanna reach into cyberspace, look at the pi bed up close and turn it around, feel the texture, smell the wool.
Love your photos and the witty comments crumpet. Thanks for being so encouraging to an amateur like moi.
Where i live, the local indigenous people used to trade in weaving. I have a feeling you are the type of person who would like to try that. Remember the Hindmarsh Island Secret Women’s Business kerfuffle a few years back? These are the people of which i speak, the Ngjarendjeri people. (spelling is approx).
My partner is working on a website for us so i can display ALL my beading projects i ahve made. I have scanned in lots of plain scarves to use as backgrounds, and scanned my beading projects. We are also putting up heaps of bilby info and bilby art. I wanna put up bilby merchandise and books but my partner thinks i would get into trouble with the people who make that stuff. I don’t understand why, i think it would be free advertising for them! I have done SO much research to find out all things bilby, i just want to share it with other people who are also bilby interested.
Now i am completely off topic, my god it’s 3.30am – no wonder,
Night crumps!

Bilby — it’s felted knitting! Well, technically, “fulled” knitting. I knit the whole thing up, set the washing machine to 95ËšC, threw it in with some towels, shrunk it, then stretched it over a big circular thing to dry.
I don’t know how long it will last. The dogs have an unfortunate habit of eating their beds. Particularly the ones I make them. I’ve already repaired one hole, so we’ll see how it goes…
