Here we go with an extraordinarily image heavy post…
Today, this happened.

That’s knitted, ends woven in, seamed, blocked and zipperified in 16 days. I get gold!
16 days of blood (well, maybe not blood), sweat (so much sweat, so much knitting in only my underwear — after my little brother had gone home anyway), tears, houseguests, stocktake, enormous work hours, uni orientation, an extra day of uni orientation, a Tegan and Sara gig and a Steinbecks gig.
Yesterday, this happened.
A quick question for Jodi, if yr reading… I’ve never sewn a zipper into my knitting before — when you did so for Mariah, did you hand sew or use a machine?

I suggest staring at the lovely cardigan to avoid the horrors of my paleness and eye-bags.

I know the photo’s a bit out of focus, but that happens when you knit for hours at a time. Thank bob the knitting part is done, because my wrists and hands are close to giving out. Today I need to seam and block, then tomorrow I sew in the zipper. A little birdy told me that I might have some surprise busy-ness today, so this could still go either way…

I caught the train to Ballarat yesterday to look at a couple of wheels that my parents had seen advertised second hand, and came home with this lovely — it’s my birthday gift from mum and dad.
Now I need a name. I’ve been considering the following…
River (because she was totally kicking my butt earlier)
Vera (because she’s my very favourite wheel — except I already named my very favourite knife this…)
Kendra (because she’s me favourite wheel… she’s me only wheel!)
Jayne (because it’s a birthday gift, and Adam Baldwin shares the birthday with me)
Suggestions are welcome.
Lessons are also welcome. Thankfully I got a bag full of fleece (from a sheep named Arnie) to practice with…
