I learned to knit from the book Stitch’n'Bitch, and ever since I bought it, I wanted to make the Sparkle Hat. I was in love with the colour of the yarn. The problem was that the Lamb’s Pride Bulky in Limeaid wasn’t available in Australia back then, and I couldn’t find a substitute I was happy with. Several months ago, when buying my yarn for the Knitting Olympics, my problem was solved.
Due to excessive brokeness recently, I haven’t been able to buy yarn. It’s also been getting very cold, so it was time to pull the Lamb’s Pride out of hibernation. The next problem was that I don’t have the book anymore. I gave it to my sister with the intention of buying the hardcover version for myself. I also decided I didn’t really want the paillettes used in the original (even though I had some), and that I wanted to use some beads I had instead. So I did some math, and winged this pattern yesterday. I love it.
It’s a woolen army helmet!
