I sent off my Sock Wars socks yesterday! Of course, they have to make it all the way from Australia to Texas, so I may still fall in battle on this first round, but we’ll see. No sign of a package at my door yet. 
Also, I realised at the post office yesterday that my socks are 100% wool. Machine washable, sure, but 100% wool DK weight, and on their way to Texas…! Apologies about that, Lynn.
If I were her, I would just turn the air conditioner waay down and enjoy the socks anyway. They’re adorable!

No apologies necessary, Ms. Crumpet! I *love* wool, and you could hang meat by my desk at work. So I will be the only person in the office with comfortable feet in July. I’ll just have to take them off to drive home, LOL.
I was **hoping** these were my socks, and that you hadn’t knit me a pair in muddy neutrals. These are scathingly brilliant, and I can’t wait to be “dead”.

I nearly went the way of muddy neutrals. I was standing in the yarn shop, wanting to buy something outlandish, but my brain was going “no! just because YOU would wear those socks, doesn’t mean anyone else will!” As you can see, I don’t listen to myself all that often. Of course, when I had the idea to create some Jayne Cobb socks — he is my favourite fictional hired gun, after all — all thoughts of “safe” socks went out the window
