I was downloading photos from my camera tonight when I came across this one of Henry being particularly cute the other night, on my lap in the bathroom. Henry doesn’t like the bathroom, because Henry does not like baths. He curled up on my lap in some sort of defence posture, ready to strike out with his feet lest anyone try and put him in the shower.

As a side note, that’s one of the first pictures I think I’ve seen where my whack of silver hair is visible. I’ve been cultivating it since I was about 16, and am quite proud of the way it’s coming along.
Also, socks!
Two socks!
Seaweed socks!

They’re knit from Interlacements Tiny Toes in colour 402 — quite simply one of the most beautiful yarns I’ve ever knit with. I love them. The lace pattern on the leg doesn’t really work as lace, but it does work in giving the socks a seaweed vibe, which is actually what I was going for with them. So hooray.
I’ve been particularly broke this fortnight. Aside from the two dental visits, there has been another reason for that…

I could have borrowed cameras from uni for my project, but with the amount of shooting I need to do, and the amount of shooting everyone else in the course needs to do, I figured the sanest course of action would be to not eat for a while… or something…
I had to buy the new lamps as well, so that the video camera wasn’t a complete waste of money. I have 30 seconds or so of footage so far (out of around 8 minutes that I’ll need — origami stop motion animation takes time), and hope to get a whole stack more done tomorrow, along with *shock!* *horror!* — a new issue of the podcast!
Someone else is trying to sell the pie. Surely if you’re smart enough to read the pattern, you’re smart enough to read the creative commons copyright notice also???
I’m totally ripping off Kris’ post here…
1. Origami stop-motion animation. So far I’ve managed 7 seconds of the 8 minutes that I’m aiming for.
2. A series of multicoloured lithograph prints based on the concept of space/time, or worlds evolving and disintegrating simultaneously.
3. A series of screenprints following on with my Alice in Wonderland theme.
4. An artist’s book about collections on the topic of tea/patterns.
5. The second lace sock of a pair.
I can barely get my brain around all this right now, so there’s no chance of me making plans for future projects…
Whoops — forgot to add SOCK WARS to that list. The yarn and needle requirements have been posted — DK weight yarn and 3.75mm needles. I’m very excited about this DK weight idea, even though it means I won’t be getting rid of the Hot Socks yarn.
