And now for what seems to be the polar opposite of lithography… screenprinting.
I’ve found it hard to get into this. I probably would be enjoying it more if we weren’t learning lithography at the same time, and I wasn’t constantly comparing the two. Still, I can see how it will be useful, and I do like the prints I’ve been making.
Here are two proofs before I up and go to bed…

Smaller this time, but numerous.

I’m a bit too tired and hot for too many words tonight. It hit 36ºC outside in Melbourne today, and a whole bunch higher than that in our oven of a printmaking studio.
And today I was printing this.

It’s so large and heavy that it deserves at least two images.

It came to my attention yesterday, as I looked at my roster and realised that I only have four hours of work next week, that I may not quite make it through the next month. Rent is paid, and I have enough money to eat for the next fortnight, but aside from that, my prospects are fairly dim. As I only have one month of uni left for the year, I’ll need to buy stuff in order to pass (like about $50+ worth of paper to print on, and five large sheets of glass to print on…). I’m also going to my ten year high school reunion in the country in a week, which will cost me $20 for food plus alcohol money (I’m gonna need at least a couple of drinks to get through it, surely). We’ll also have to buy petrol to drive there and back, and I could really do with a haircut and possibly some new clothes.
I’m slightly stressed.
To avoid thinking about the stress, and to also hopefully make some money, I’ve been working on my shop pages. I’ve added a bunch of prints to the art section, added some scarves and badges to the jewellery in the accessories section and added a brand new sale section, which is currently housing a whole bunch of old paintings, as well as some bits and pieces of knitting and sewing.
Go. Buy stuff.

Busy.
Exhausted.
In love with the 1 metre x 70 centimetre lithographic stone I’m working on at uni, even though it makes my arms sore.
Broke.
Updating website shop in the hope that people make me less broke.
How dare Kyle Fuckwit Sandilands badmouth Colin Hay.
Apart from the fact that I love the song Down Under, Colin Hay is just totally awesome. Several years ago, I stupidly thought Men At Work were kind of dorky, then I saw Colin Hay play at the Woodford Folk Festival, and then I went back and saw him play every. single. day. for the full week after that.
He rocks.
PS — Bobby just gave me chills. That was freaking awesome.
