Programming.
I usually hang up on telemarketers. That is, if I even pick up the phone in the first place — I’m a big fan of screening calls. I did happen to answer it the other day though — the person on the other end sounded like a nice young chap, and all he asked me to do was watch television. A videotape arrived in the post for me today. It’s a special, magical videotape that erases as you watch it, and thank fuck for that, because I wouldn’t wish that TV program on my worst enemy.
I had to make up some of my own answers for the multiple choice feedback form, like “never” and “please don’t”.
At least I got a $10 gift card out of it. It paid for my lunch today and then some. I’m looking forward to the phone call tomorrow where I get to tell the marketing/television programming company that crappy, badly acted, boring, predictable, sexist sitcoms are really no fun for anyone involved. Hooray!
