There are stories within stories, whispered in ears in the quiet of the night, shouted above the roar of the day, and played out between lovers and enemies, strangers and friends. But all, all are fragile things made up using just 26 letters arranged and rearranged again and again to form tales and imaginings which, if you let them, will dazzle your senses, haunt your imagination and move you to the very depths of your soul.
Every 28 days, like clockwork, I feel like I’ll shatter at the smallest knock, both physically and emotionally. I figured yesterday was a good day to start reading Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman.
The little excerpt above is from the back of the book, and I decided it would serve as an excellent reminder that the Alphabet Shoot photography competition is about to begin. Current participants are listed in the column on yr right, although some of the Flickr links aren’t working, because WordPress is stripping the @ symbol out, and I can’t figure out how to stop it. So if the Flickr address is the type that ends in N00/ you should add in the @ just prior to that, and you’ll find the correct page.
I did originally say that signups would end on the 24th, but if you still want to sign up, you can — just make sure all the first round photos, being for the letter A, are uploaded into the Alphabet Shoot Flickr Group by 11:59PM UTC/GMT on Monday 26 February.
Happy shooting.

To fix your links, put “& # 64;” (without the spaces) in place of the ‘@’.

Remember it’s GMT time Giz, not Melbourne time. So you still have… time.
Take a photo of the Hardman and call it “Angry”.
