I was about to give up on my photo of the day for today, when Henry jumped on my lap, slammed his paw down on the keyboard, rotated this one, gave it five stars and launched the Dashboard all in one fell swoop. How could I refuse to post it?

Pivot
I love scissors. The photo above is a close-up of my latest acquisition — a new pair of dressmaking scissors… my old hand-me-down scissors were getting a bit worse for wear, and all the others had been blunted too much by paper to be any good for fabric.
I don’t know what it is about scissors, but they fascinate me, and I have one old beat up pair that I find especially beautiful. So much so that I keep immortalising them in print. I’ve just recently done it again in some new work, but you can check some others out here and here in my Etsy store.

Excuses, excuses…
I fell of the wagon again yesterday. I missed taking a picture because I was:
a) annoyed
b) at uni doing work during the day, even though I’m on holidays this week
c) at a work thing where they told us our results for the end of the financial year, where I got some beers and a gift card — hooray!
d) at Andy’s show, followed by dinner and more drinks
By the time I got home I pretty much collapsed into bed, and while I did have a hangover this morning, it was all worth it because I’m pretty much over my foul mood now. Yay!
Today I went back into uni and spent all day shooting a little stop motion animation for one of my printmaking classes. And tomorrow I have the day off.

Jarscapes
I know it’s a little late notice, but Andy’s latest art show is opening tonight at Jenny Port Gallery. The address is Level One, 7 Albert Street in Richmond for anyone interested in coming along — it’s just off Church St, not far past the intersection of Church and Swan. I have a drinks thing at work from 6 (although I’m slightly tempted not to go to that — I’m highly frustrated with work at the moment, particularly after yesterday… but I’ll probably go anyway…) and I’ll head to the show at about 7.
I love Andy’s jarscapes — there are actually several jars I donated in the mix, which just makes it more fun. I wonder if the ‘Kym and Andy’s Mango Chutters’ jar is in the show…? (That one was especially fun to hand over, considering that Andy has a girlfriend named Kim.)

Wish of the Day
I love my sewing machine, but pretty plz can I have a more hardcore one???!? Sewing bulky seams in denim with topstitching thread makes my current machine cry real tears…
