Handmade.
I just signed up for the Handmade pledge this holiday season. I managed to pre-empt this by asking my dad to make us a new bookshelf for Christmas, and it’s been made easier by the fact that we only have to give a gift to one niece or nephew this year, thanks to the magic of Kris Kringle giving. While everyone else is spending their $50 at a shop somewhere, I’ll be making this or this this for my ten year old niece, maybe accompanied by a few other small handmade things, or maybe something purchased from Etsy.
On a (slightly) different note, here’s some more of the work I set up for assessment this past Wednesday. I printed the same web image on lightweight Ho-Sho paper, cut it up into squares and made nine origami objects, all presented on my favourite table ever. I drew origami crease patterns in red, green and blue all over the table before placing my objects on it. The basic idea is along existentialist and chaotic lines again, with the thought that everything comes from the same source, but evolving conditions and contexts change both the physical form and meaning.

Hi Jessica, I use a Canon 400D digital SLR — these shots were taken with a macro lens. Wait! No they weren’t — they were taken with a 24-105 zoom lens.

You can tell what the camera is by viewing the pics on the Flickr site - by default the camera used is listed on the right.

Hey! Found your blog with the NaBloPoMo randomiser. This is completely random and not related to the blog post, but what kind of camera do you use?
