I’m in need of a little help. You see, I’ve made this little artwork about Nothing, and now I want to enter it into an art prize, but to do that, I need Something. Fifty Somethings for the entry processing fee. My bank account is currently at Less than Nothing and the entry form is due in on Friday. The Art Prize in my sights is the 2008 Blake Prize*. Exploring the Religious and Spiritual in Art, they say. My art, including this piece, is all about the Religious. Sure, it’s about how religion is wrong. But even with its Atheist and rather existential slant, it’s still about The Religiosity.
I have to admit, the $20000 prize money is only part of why I so desperately want to enter. The childish glee of entering a piece about atheism is the icing on the cake.
