We The Players
Time for Part Two of my assessment work!
I made a stop-motion animation using tangrams as part of my media class, then tweaked it a bit and set it up for printmaking as well. In the animation assessment it was just screened in the regular fashion, but for printmaking I wove a screen together from my relief printing backing sheets, suspended that from my tapestry loom (yes, you read that right — I bought an old wooden tapestry loom from ebay at the start of the semester… came in very handy for my work!) and projected the looped animation onto it. Here are some pictures…
Weaving the screen (this shows the reverse side — the front was white).
The back view of the screen mid-projection.
Some stills from the loop.
I’m really, really happy with this piece. Especially with the sound, which is my spinning wheel, my knitting needles and me printing lino, all made special by the Mister.
Lookee!
