Tonight, Tonight
Garth from Extreme Craft recently posted the Smashing Pumpkins video for Tonight, Tonight. I was a huge SP fan from late high school onwards, and I remember taking a copy of this video into my Television Production class when I studied Advertising. I loved it then, and I still love it now. I remember showing it in the class because I wanted to find out how it was made, and my lecturer thought it was brilliant… but I still remember hearing the whispered snide comments from other students who couldn’t be bothered watching or appreciating something awesome and just wanted the class to finish so they could leave — who would’ve thought that university is for learning?
Sigh. Further evidence that I was always meant to be studying what I am now.
Anyway, this clip popped up at the perfect time. I’ll be doing a big new animation next semester — I still need to write the script and this is the perfect inspiration.

If you like it, the “making of” feature on the DVD might be worthit for you. It goes through some of the filming techniques, like Vaseline on the lenses, types of cameras, etc.

Crump, have you seen The Saddest Music in the World? I think you’d really like it.
