It's straight garter stitch, so there's no fancy patterns to pay attention to, but it's got just enough spice to remain interesting. The techniques you use are increasing and decreasing to make mitred corners and for altering fullness at certain areas on the jacket, a tiny bit of short row shaping and picking up stitches. My only knitting projects so far have been tube type things - headbands and the like - and I'm now just venturing into creating-a-beanie land. I'll see how that goes. I really want to make a jacket like this, though, for my little niece - luckily she is only a few weeks old, so I've got a while until she'll fit into something like this. The colours are great; love the texture of the yarn. That’s beautiful!
